Bill Ratliff

"Pinecone” Bill Ratliff hung his spurs upon the gates on October 20, 2022, at his home in Duncan Arizona. Born September 27, 1950, in Buckeye, Arizona, to Samuel Edward Ratliff and Annie Faye McDonald. A Graduate of Valley Union high school in Elfrida, Arizona, class of 1969. 

Moving to Phoenix, he worked in construction doing drywall and various skilled labor. In 1974, Pinecone was hired at Phelps Dodge Mining Corporation as a haul truck operator, moving to Morenci, Arizona, later becoming a "catskinner" then he operated the screening plant as a senior mechanic for Freeport McMoran Copper and Gold in Morenci for 45 years. Pinecone loved the outdoors! Fishing and hunting with cousin Bud Ratliff.  Riding, roping, scouting, archery, guns, ammo, his horses, family, and being an ornery ol’ cowboy! Anyone that knows him knows that he is the true definition of what a man is.

This hard-working father, protector, provider and selfless husband is survived by: his wife of 40 adventurous years, Renee Bolin Ratliff; five children, Dawn Ratliff Baxter, Keri Ratliff Hysner, Davie Bieringer, Ricky Mann and Tracy Ratliff; nine grandchildren, Austin Ratliff, Siera Ackerman, Tyleigh Mclane, Billy Bieringer, Landon Hysner, Mason Hysner, Kinley Hysner, Kamdyn Hysner, and Rachel Heaton; and five great-grandchildren, Rylee, Jakoby, Emmy, Hudson Mclane and Layne Ratliff.  

Private family services for Pinecone will be conducted at a later date.
