Victor Moreno, Sr., of Safford and a United States Navy veteran, entered into rest Saturday, August 1, 2020, at the Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale. Vic was 75. Victor lived in San Jose, Arizona all his life. He raised all his kids there as well. He loved working on cars, truck driving, camping, especially in Greer, Arizona, and spending time sitting on the porch drinking coffee. Victor loved spending time with his family and loved to help in the kitchen. One of his proudest moments is when he made his daughter, Becky’s, wedding cake. His first attempt and nailed it. Victor was an all-around good guy. Loved by many and had no hesitation to help anyone. He will be remembered for his giving and helpful heart. Victor had his own Semi for a few years as owner/operator. He then sold his semi to take care of his parents due to their failing health, who lived just across the street. Victor then worked for CKC Construction for 22 years before retiring from the job. He then spent his days with his wife, Josie. Victor is survived by: his loving wife of 54 years, Josie; his daughters, Rebecca (Ricardo), Victoria, Ashley and Eliana; sons, Ronnie and Ruben (Ashley); and a sister, Dahlia Garcia (Roger); 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Marcos Sr. and Mariana Moreno; sisters, Lydia Paredez and Margie Barragan; brother, Marcos Moreno Jr.; children, Victor Moreno Jr., Sonia Garcia and Vicki Sanchez; great-grandchildren, Edward Romero and Serenity Moreno. A Mass of Christian Burial for Vic will be celebrated Friday, August 14, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church by Rev. Nicodemus Shaghel. Committal will follow in the Safford Cemetery with Military honors being conferred by the Gila Valley Veterans Honor Guard. Rosary and prayers for Vic will be offered Friday, August 14, 2020, at 10:00 a.m., also at the church. Family will receive friends Thursday evening, August 13, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Vining Funeral Home.
