Rita Campione, a longtime resident of Safford, AZ, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2023. She was 86.
Born July 18, 1937, in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Mary Gaglio (Calandro) and Augustine Gaglio.
In her early years, Rita was a professional singer and performed at many nightclubs in Manhattan including the Copacabana where she was one of the “world famous” Copa girls.
Rita moved to Safford in 1991 and enjoyed many years there with her husband Russell. She loved watching the Diamondbacks, working on crossword puzzles, swimming in her pool, and playing with her dogs.
Rita was preceded in death by: her husband, Russell.
She is survived by: her daughter, Maria (Harry); her sons, Larry (Terri), and Randall (Carmen); and her three grandchildren, Robert, Amanda, and Jacqueline.
Rita will be laid to rest next to her husband, Russell, in the Safford Cemetery.
