Richard H. Mendoza passed in peace Wednesday April 14, 2021, in Safford,
Arizona. He served in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran.
Richard retired from Sundt Construction Company as a Journeyman Carpenter.
Most recently he retired a second time from Lexington Pines Resort as Head of
Maintenance.
Richard is survived by: his wife, Margaret C. Mendoza, of 49 years of marriage;
daughter, Brandi (Raul) Gomez; son, Richard (Tiana) Mendoza Jr.; his grandchildren
who he adored are, Sydnie Gomez, Nicholas Gomez, Matthew Gomez, Pixley
Marie Mendoza and Paxton Richard Mendoza; step-grandson, Andrew (Ashley)
Gomez; brother, Simon Mendoza; sisters, Mary Quintana, Romona (Ralph) Flores,
Romie Rodriguez; and many nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in death by: his father, Ruperto Mendoza; mother, Tomasa
Mendoza; brothers, Jose Jesus, Raquel, Ruben and Reymundo; sisters, Margarita,
Rosa, Luisa, Soledad, Socorro, Rosa Emma and Isela.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 21, 2021, from 8:30 a.m. until
9:30 a.m., at the Vining Funeral Home.
A Rosary and prayers for Richard will be offered Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at
10:00 a.m., at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m., and
military honors to be given in the courtyard immediately after.
Pallbearers: Richard Mendoza (son), Raul Gomez (son-in-law), Nicholas
Gomez (grandson), Matthew Gomez (grandson), Paxton Mendoza (grandson), Andy
Rodriguez (nephew), Reymundo Martinez (nephew) and Orlando Martinez (nephew).
Honorary Pallbearers: Andrew Gomez and Ken King.
Due to COVID-19 restriction, there will be no reception after services.
