Ralph Wood

Ralph R. Wood passed away the morning of March 1, 2019, at the age of 88, peacefully in his home after a gradual decline in health. Ralph was born on September 2, 1930, in Tomball, TX, to the late Robert and Helen Wood. He was the oldest of 1 brother and 1 sister. Ralph was a Korean War Veteran. He served as a United States Marine from 1948-1959. Afterwards, his skills as a mechanic became his way of living until, he had the opportunity to pursue his passion for teaching high school history and english. Ralph is survived by: his wife of 35 years, Janice Wood; eight sons; Jimmy (Donna), Ray (Mevelyn), Dale, Billy (Julie), Charles (Alissa), Arthur Kelly (Nicole), William Ellis (Nicole) and John Matthew (Frannie); and three daughters, Mary Beth (George), Regina (Joseph) and Helen. Ralph was blessed with 28 grandkids (2 unborn), 24 great-grandkids and 5 great-great grandkids. A Memorial Service to honor the life of Ralph Wood will be conducted on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., at the New Testament Baptist Church located at 2501 S. First Ave., Safford AZ, 85546. Rev. Randall MacDonald will officiate.
