Linda Darlene Boren

October 25, 1941 — September 24, 2022

Linda Darlene Boren, a resident of Pima, entered into eternal life Saturday, September 24, 2022, in Henderson, Nevada, with children and grandchildren at her side. Linda was 80.

Linda was born on October 25, 1941, in Lizard Bump, Arizona, to Lela Lamoreaux Hancock and Lawrence Elijah Hancock, the youngest of six children.  She spent many happy years growing up on her parent’s farm in Lizard Bump, and later lived for six years in Mesa as a teenager.  Upon graduating from Mesa High School, Linda went on to Brigham Young Unversity, in Provo, but after a year, came back home to live, and soon began dating Jerry Boren.  They were married June 23, 1961, in the Mesa Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  They had three children, Darvil (Teresa), Beverly (Robert), and Becky (Phillip).  Linda and Jerry lived in Seligman and Wilcox in their early marriage, but eventually settled in Pima where they lived, in one house only, for almost 50 years.  Linda's creative talents blessed many.  She loved to craft, create, decorate her home, make scrapbooks and photo albums and especially create loving gifts to give to others.  She loved to go camping, play card games, scout out and collect antiques, and almost always had a small dog in her lap. Her greatest joy was her family, and she loved and was very proud of all of them.

Linda lost Jerry in January of 2018, after 56 years of marriage, and her life was never the same.  Her thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren brought her much joy however, and she loved visiting with them and hearing their news.  She moved to Henderson a year ago to be near her daughter Beverly and her family and made friends there as well.

Linda's brother, Von Hancock, and sister, Alice Ford as the last of the siblings, will miss Linda terribly - they spoke on the phone often.  We're happy that those who have preceded Linda in death, her parents, husband, three siblings and a grandson among others are celebrating her arrival on the other side of the veil.  We are happy that we will see her again one day there too.

Funeral services for Linda will be conducted Saturday afternoon, October 8, 2022, at 3:00 p.m., at the Pima Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Bishop Brendan Cluff of the Pima Fourth Ward. Concluding services will follow in the Pima Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon, October 8, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m., at the Pima Chapel Junior Sunday School Room of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
