Joshua W. Smeltekop, 16, of Safford, entered into rest January 14, 2019, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
He was born July 26, 2002, in Safford, the son of Ryan and Roxanne (Hill) Smeltekop. Josh was currently enrolled at Safford High School, and was a member of the Varsity Football Team, the Soccer Team, he was a member of Future Farmers of America and International Barrel Horse Association. Josh is survived by: his parents, Ryan and Roxanne of Safford; his twin brother, Daniel; and his sister Carley, both at home. He also leaves: his maternal grandparents, Delbert and Joyce Hill, of Pima; and his paternal grandfather, Carl Smeltekop Jr., of Tucson. He is also survived by: his maternal aunt, Susan (Billy) Patton and their children of Safford; maternal uncle, Michael (Pillar) Hill of Globe; his paternal aunt, Miki (Dave) Curtis and their children, of Holly, MI.
A Celebration of Josh’s Life will be conducted Saturday, January 19, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., at the First Southern Baptist Church of Thatcher, located at 2934 W. 8th Street, Thatcher, AZ 85552, by Pastor Dustin Willey. A luncheon and sharing of memories will follow the service in the fellowship hall. Thank you to all who have been so kind and loving.
