Joe P. Santos, 87, passed away peacefully June 13, 2018, at Bobbie’s Adult Care Home in Tucson. Joe was born March 19, 1931, in Hayden, Arizona. He married Beatrice on December 4, 1954, at the San Jose Catholic Church. They raised their four children in Safford and never moved away. His friends and family will always remember Joe as a kind and friendly person who loved gardening, classic trucks and joking around with his friends. He loved watching sports, old T.V shows and westerns. Joe especially enjoyed his summers spent with his grandsons. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Joe is survived by: his sons, Robert and Jerry; his daughter, Vicki (Joe) Valenzuela; grandson, Joey (Lisa) Valenzuela; great-granddaughter, Christiana Valenzuela; his brothers, Arnold (Lena) Santos of Hayden, Arizona and Rudy (Lorraine) Santos of Somerset, California; his sisters, Charlotte Lorona of Kearny, Arizona and Velia Montoya of Winkelman, Arizona; and numerous nephews and nieces. Joe is preceded in death by: his wife, Beatrice; his grandson, Christopher Valenzuela; and stepson, Joe. A Mass of Christian Burial for Joe will be celebrated Thursday morning, June 28, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church by Rev. Robert Rodriguez. Committal will follow in the Safford Cemetery with military honors being conferred by the Gila Valley Veteran Honor Guard. A Rosary for Joe will be prayed Thursday morning, June 28, 2018, at 9:00 a.m., at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church by Deacon Carl Vessels. The family will receive friends Thursday morning, June 28, 2018, from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m., also at the church.
