Edwin Burr Webb, age 83, passed away on December 23, 2022. at his home in Safford. He was born on September 29, 1939, in Snowflake, to Edward Burr Webb and Amy Gwendolyn Porter.
He is survived by his wife, Zella (Busby) of 63 years. They are parents of five children and have 27 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren. Edwin is survived by his children, Ray (Deena), Juline Curtis (Don), Wanda Evans (Skyler), Darrin (Michelle) and Roger (Jimmy). Living brothers are Leroy (Jean) and Kelcey (Cyndi). Edwin was preceded in death by two sisters, Darlene Smith and Samantha Farnsworth, along with his parents Burr and Gwen.
Edwin attended elementary school in Fredonia, Heber and Joseph City. He attended Holbrook High School, graduating in 1957. He attended Eastern Arizona College, graduating with his associate’s degree in auto mechanics in 1959. He loved playing baseball as a catcher. Edwin and Zella married in June 1959.
Edwin served as an Arizona Ranger, and volunteer for Navajo County law enforcement; a volunteer EMT who helped establish the Holbrook Ambulance Service where he served as president for many years.
He was chosen as Holbrook’s Man of the Year for his many years of service with Holbrook EMS. He was a Holbrook Volunteer Fire Department member from 1969-1995. He flew several emergency medical missions for the hospital.
Edwin lived in Holbrook for 61 years where he was the Rainbo Bread and Shamrock Milk distributor and Burr’s Stove Shop owner. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He also served at the Indian Wells and Greasewood branches of the church.
Funeral services for Edwin will be conducted Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. (noon), at the Holbrook Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1127 Helen Avenue in Holbrook. Concluding services will follow in the Joseph City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday morning, December 31, 2022, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m., at the Holbrook Chapel Relief Society Room of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
