David and Sharon Clonts, longtime residents of Solomon, entered into eternal life Saturday evening, April 15, 2023, from injuries sustained in automobile accident. David and Sharon were 71.
David was born August 16, 1951, in Farmington, New Mexico. He was born to Hugh and Norma Clonts. David would later have four brothers join him in this life, Steve, Mark, Kent and Robert.
Sharon joined him in life eight days later and was born August 24, 1951, in Safford, Arizona. She was born to the late Virgil Ray Henderson and Pauline Etoy Lustig. She would later have three siblings join her in this life, Edward, Johnny and Debra.
They married September 12, 1969. Their marriage welcomed three children, Sheila, Pamila and Lisa.
David is preceded in death by: his father, Hugh. Sharon is preceded in death by: her father Virgil, her mother, Pauline and her brother, Edward. Their grandson, David Mitchell Ostberg, passed the following day in the hospital. They are survived by: three daughters Sheila (Colt), Pamila (Richard) and Lisa (Christopher); thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. David is survived by: his mother and fout brothers, Steve (Vicki), Mark (Glenda), Kent and Robert. Sharon is survived by: two siblings, Johnny (Rhonda) and Debra (Richard).
Many may know David and Sharon from they work here in the valley. David owned a shop in Thatcher for many years before going into business with his father Hugh raising hogs and then later farming cotton. David and his father farmed cotton and raised hog for many years. As with most hog farmers here in the valley the market was not go so David stop raising hogs and took on new endeavors with open a shop at the farm, then later he added the tire shop and finally he added commercial trucking to the farm. Sharon is well known for the many years that she worked at the Solomonville School as a teacher aide and bus driver.
Funeral services for David and Sharon and their grandson, David Mitchell Ostberg, will be conducted Saturday afternoon, April 22, 2023, at 3:00 p.m., at the Safford Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Bishop Robert Montierth of the Solomonville Ward. Concluding services will follow in the Central Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon, April 22, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m., at the Safford Stake Center Relief Society Room of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
