Byron Curtis DeSpain, a resident of Morenci, unexpectedly entered into eternal life early Sunday morning, January 13, 2019, at his home. Byron was 48. Byron was born in Safford, Arizona on December 8, 1970. He grew up in Pima attending school and enjoying all the outdoor activities that a small town provides. Byron loved being outdoors riding motorcycles, quads and getting anything with four-wheel drive stuck in the mud. He was always willing to jump in and go camping, fishing, hunting or just on a good ride exploring the Arizona desert. Byron married Wendy Robbins on May 29, 1993, and together they had three beautiful daughters who he loved dearly and enjoyed spending all the time he could with them. He loved to barbecue, cook and enjoyed using recipes from his Grandma DeSpain. Byron was good at just about anything that required his hands and loved working on his old Ford truck with his youngest Jacquelyn. He was a great friend and was well liked by all who knew him. He was loyal to a fault to those he loved. Byron worked at the mine in Morenci for most of his life. As part of his job he went to Africa and helped establish a new mine. Although conditions were less than ideal, he loved the time he spent there and seeing another part of the world. Byron is survived and missed by: his three daughters, Tawnie, Shelby (Nathan) and Jackie; his granddaughters, Scarlett and Raegan; his brother, Henry (LaDawn); and his parents, Jack (Debbie), of Holbrook, Arizona and Joy, of Pima. He will be greatly missed by all his friends and family. A Celebration of Byron's Life will be conducted Friday morning, January 18, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., at Vining Funeral Home's "Chapel of the Valley" by his brother, Henry DeSpain.
