Leora McBride Taylor

On Sunday, November 3, 2019 Leora McBride Taylor passed away with her husband by her side in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was 74. Leora was the seventh child of Phil and Delsa McBride of Pima, Arizona. She and her husband, Douglas Taylor, had eight children that they raised in Pima, and Mesa, Arizona. She loved working with children and spent time working as a classroom aide, a playground aide, a cafeteria worker, and finished her career as an aide at the Dan Hinton School in Pima. Leora enjoyed her time working there with her older sister Norma, especially the times that they were able to put on programs for the community. In recent years she has enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren on Mount Graham, at Disneyland, and at the beach. Throughout her life Leora was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many different organizations. Funeral services for Leora will be conducted Monday morning, November 11, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Pima Stake Center by Bishop Jace Nelson of the Pima First Ward. Concluding services will follow in the Pima Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, November 10, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Vining Funeral Home and Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Pima Stake Center Relief Society Room.

Light a Candle

I remember Leora coming into primary with her arms full of posters for singing time, a baby in arms, and 3 little boys in tow. She was always in a hurry, but she got it all done, did it well, and never stopped smiling.

Leora was a very special friend to me. I could talk to her about anything I needed to. She would give great advice. I feel I helped her raise her children because I was always babysitting for her & Doug. I will miss her dearly. To the Family: I love you dearly & Im sorry for your loss. Lets keep in touch.

Doug and Family, Leora was my Temple Mom when I went through the temple for my first time. I loved having her sit beside me and help me along the way. I also loved being the "favorite babysitter" for your kids. What a joyous reunion she is having with her family and she will no doubt keep her eyes on all of you. Nancy (Norton) Dandoy

My memory of Leora is always seeing a smile on her face and a book in her hand. She lived a simple life and never complained. She understood what truly was important to life. Her lessons of love of your spouse, children and friends will not be forgotten. She never spoke ill of anyone and was always positive on her outlook on life. She was a "true" Christian and lived the gospel every day. She led by example and was an inspiration to others. She will be missed, but her legacy will live on. Robert Burgheimer
