Light a Candle

Jon was a lifetime friend. I knew him and his family very well. His brother, Dusty, was my college roommate until he moved to Mexico. I began to know Jon professionally when I became the lawyer for the Gila Water Commissioner in 1968 and Jon was deputy Commissioner and later became Gila Water Commissioner. I enjoyed being Jon's lawyer because he was a man of great intelligence, knowledge and integrity. When Jon got sick it was a very personal thing to me. I grieved for him and his family. I will never forget him. Brent Moody

Good friend. Attended Safford schools together. We won 3rd grade relay race because Jon was the fastest runner in our school. A bunch of us use to race each other on Anderson,s front yard (corner of 5th ave and Relation streets). Never could keep up with Jon. Ron Woodford and I visited Jon last October when we were in Safford for our high school 1958 class 60 yr reunion. Grateful we had some time with him. Our love and prayers to all the family.
