Light a Candle

We only just learned of Cubby's passing. He touched our family's life in the few times we had together. He taught our kids how to ride horses and because of his kindness they were able to use that knowledge as part of their homeschooling program as well as for the fun it was meant to be. Our hearts go out to the family for the loss of this special man.

Dear Mary, and all of the family, Joel & I want to send our loving thoughts and sympathy on the passing of our former CHS classmate, and life long friend. We pray that God gives you strength and peace as you deal with a big void in your life. We are just so glad that you, Mary, and Cubby came to two of our most recent high school reunions. It had been such a long time since we had seen him, and he looked great. It was so nice to finally meet you. Cubby was a special guy and we feel blessed that we knew him. Take care, all of you. He is watching over you and part of us all, forever. Sandy (Rowe) and Joel England, Camp Verde AZ

My mom (Irene Forgach) told me a story that I forgot about and wish I had mentioned at Cubby's services. When my mom was in labor with me in Dec 1967, they lived in Clifton and had to drive her to a Tucson hospital to deliver me. There was a freak snow storm that winter to top it off. They had to stop at Cubby's gas station in Safford on the way to get the car serviced. He joked and asked my grandpa and mom if they were going to name me Willcox or Benson? My poor mom made it to Tucson and luckily I wasn't born in the car!! Funny how our paths in life cross....and criss-cross.
