Life Legacy
Beulah Grace Boutwell was born September 12, 1911 to William Carlos Bryce and Beulah Bertie Means Bryce, and the Great Grand Daughter of Ebenezer Bryce. Beulah is the second oldest of ten children and is survived by one brother; Edmond Bryce of Abington, Pennsylvania. As a young girl, Beulah received her formal education in Ashurst, Arizona, later she attended Gila Academy which is now known as Eastern Arizona College.
Shortly after attending Gila Academy, Beulah met and married the love of her life, Thomas Boutwell. Together, Beulah and Thomas loved to travel, spending time in each city that they would visit. Some of the stops that she loved most were in California and New York. Beulah was a great homemaker; she spent most of her time doing what she loved most, which was sewing. She was very talented with her sewing machine and love to knit and make afghan blankets.
After Thomas’ passing Beulah moved back to Safford, where she resided with her two sisters Belva and Flora. Together they enjoyed their time working on the hobbies that they loved most and reminiscing of the good ol’ days. While living with her sisters she met and made a great friend in Dennis Bridges. After her sisters passed, Beulah needed assistance on a daily basis. She received this assistance from her dear friend Dennis who was there by her side for nearly eight and half years until her passing February 3, 2010.
